Kitsap Public Health District Awarded National Accreditation
The Kitsap Public Health District has achieved national accreditation through the national non‐profit Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). The accreditation program works to improve and protect the health of the public by advancing the quality and performance of the nation’s Tribal, state, local, and territorial public health departments. Kitsap Public Health now joins the Washington State Department of Health and Spokane Regional Health District as the only three accredited public health agencies in Washington State. Out of more than 3,000 governmental public health departments nationwide, only 75 Public Health departments—less than three percent—have received this high recognition of quality service and performance.
